I, like my dad, was lucky enough to be raised in a Christian home. I went to church every Sunday and Wednesday unless I was too sick to walk.
In April 1991, at the age of 11, I asked Jesus to come into my heart. I lived like I thought I should for about 3 days and then went back to the way I was acting before.
I continued acting "my" way till March 12, 2000. That Sunday night GOD spoke to me loud and clear. HE told me to quit living my life "my" way and live my life for HIM.
About the time I was crying in a pew, a friend that had been coming to our Friday night bible study shot himself. That was a hard time. Something like that had never happened to anyone I knew. He died the next day. That was the worst week of my life. I didn't understand why GOD let that happen.
Over the past several months I'm starting to see why. His family is in church, his 15 year old sister was baptized a few weeks ago, a girl who is now one of best friends now came to know Jesus, and several people are alive today through his organs being transplanted.
Lloyd's dying was a tragedy. But GOD worked through that tragedy. HE's not going to let bad things happen just to let bad things happen. HE's going to work through them in a way that will blow our minds. We don't see that in the beginning but I'm here to tell you, HE will. I've seen it with my own eyes.
I know that without JESUS I wouldn't have made it through the past few months. Now I'm going to live my life in a way that is pleasing to JESUS. That is the least I can do for HIM. HE died on the cross for my sins and your sins so we could have eternal life in Heaven with HIM. I can promise you that there is no greater love than the love JESUS has for us.
I just want to thank GOD for all the blessings I have in my life; my friends, my family, and most important, my best friend, JESUS CHRIST my LORD and SAVIOR.
I could go on for pages and pages about the things that GOD has done in my life and those around me but I'll end here. Thanks for your time and thanks to Lindel for giving me the opportunity to share with you. I'll see you later.
GOD BLESS,
Josh D. Sims
